Advantages of Donor Advised Funds

I am a gadget man.  I love my iPhone.  I love my remote control.  I love my GPS system.  I love my coffee system that brews one cup at a time.  I love my Kindle.  This is starting to sound like a generosity blog about me and my stuff, isn’t it?

Let me start again…

Just because we are Christians does not mean that we need to remain stuck in the “dark ages” when it comes to our methods of living our lives.  I am very pleased to have the benefits of a Kindle, a GPS, and a remote control – mainly because they make my life more streamlined and simple and leave me free to do other things with my time.

In giving, there is a fantastic option that streamlines your giving and safeguards the money you intend to leave to the Kingdom.  If you have never looked into using a Donor-Advised Fund, please consider this blog a tip from me on how to make your giving life easier, and check it out!  I would suggest visiting www.nationalchristian.com as a starting point to see if there is a Local Christian Foundation in your area.

The three main advantages of using a Donor-Advised Fund to do your giving are:

  1. It simplifies your tax situation, as you get only one receipt with your total giving at year’s end.
  2. It protects your legacy since the fund shares your philosophy of where your money should go if you die.
  3. It simplifies your cash management, as you can give in a “one click” fashion through the Local Christian Foundation’s website, in most cases.

May God’s peace encourage you as you pursue financial wisdom and depend on His Truth.
