At the Ron Blue Institute (RBI), we are passionate about equipping the next generation with financial wisdom grounded in biblical principles. Through partnerships with Christian universities, we’re creating Financial Wisdom Centers that offer students a variety of transformative programs and opportunities. We’re excited to welcome Cedarville University and Union University as the newest partners in our mission to ensure that every Christian college student graduates equipped with biblical financial wisdom, principles, and practices that lead to financial health, greater stewardship, and increased contentment and generosity.

Cedarville University has seen a growing interest among students in learning financial principles from a biblical perspective. To meet this demand, they are partnering with RBI to incorporate the Certified Kingdom Advisors® (CKA®) certificate into their CFP program. This collaboration, developed by Kingdom Advisors and RBI, allows students to complete the educational requirements for both the CFP® and CKA® certifications within a year. By offering the CKA® as a Capstone course within the CFP program, students are uniquely positioned to sit for both certification exams upon completion.

The Kingdom Advisors certification helps students excel by setting them apart for career opportunities and giving them an advantage in helping Christian clients walk in biblical financial wisdom. The foundation students build is imperative to establishing their careers as financial advisors. Dr. Phil Gelatt says, “Financial firms that hire these students indicate that these new hires are two years ahead of other new hires who have not gone through the CKA course.”

While the CKA® program prepares students for certification and career opportunities, RBI also emphasizes practical experience and peer engagement through its Personal Financial Discipleship program. This initiative trains students to serve as peer financial coaches on their campuses, helping their peers navigate personal finance questions while deepening their own understanding. Participants complete RBI’s specialized training and receive comprehensive manuals as resources for their coaching sessions. To further support their success, students are paired with a dedicated mentor. This program provides valuable hands-on experience, enhancing their readiness for the financial advising profession. 

Union University has recently joined RBI as the newest partner to implement the peer financial coaching program, thanks to the initiative of one of their distinguished alumni, Stephen Moore. Inspired by the mission of RBI’s Personal Financial Discipleship program, Moore felt compelled to bring this opportunity to his alma mater. He will serve as the primary mentor for the five to ten students selected for the program. As the owner of a financial firm, Moore offers students the unique advantage of learning from an experienced industry professional while also opening doors to potential job opportunities through his guidance and professional network.

Christian universities with a strong presence of peer financial coaches in the Personal Financial Discipleship program gain a significant advantage: the ability to extend financial wisdom rooted in biblical principles to students across the entire campus, not just within the business division. With debt becoming increasingly normalized and finances cited as a leading cause of stress, students greatly benefit from learning how to manage their finances effectively. This program equips them to graduate with confidence, prepared to live in contentment and generosity as faithful stewards of the resources God provides.
